FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Every day across the Ozarks, hundreds of volunteers lend their time to nonprofit, public and human-service organizations. Since 1991, the Gift of Time Awards Luncheon has recognized volunteers who contribute thousands of hours to make life better for their neighbors. Do you know someone who gives their time to make the Ozarks a better place to live? The City of Springfield and the Council of Churches of the Ozarks encourage you to nominate this person for a Gift of Time award. An impartial team of business and civic leaders will review each nominee and select 10 people as Volunteers of the Year. The honorees will be recognized at an 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. luncheon on June 16 at the Ramada Oasis Convention Center, 2456 N. Glenstone. One lucky honoree will be selected to receive a $500 award for the charity of their choice. The deadline for nominations has been extended to Thursday, May 22 at midnight. ### For more information, please call the Council of Churches at 417-862-3586.
