FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The City of Springfield’s Building Development Services department has prepared a series of proposed amendments to the building codes that were adopted by the City in 2012. The draft language of these proposed changes can be found at the links below. Once the department receives feedback, staff will then draft the code amendment language that will go before City Council. “The proposed amendments are based on a review of the 2015 code series, as well as local issues regarding the current codes that Building Development Services staff has encountered,” says BDS Director Chris Straw. The City asks the Springfield building and development community to review the code changes and e-mail their feedback to Seward Meintsma, P.E., at [email protected] by June 15. While the new clean-out details are a new state law requirement that will become effective in January 2016, the City is proposing that they be included in the proposed amendments at this time. • Code changes
• Tracer wire detail
• Typical cleanout riser. ### For more information, please contact Chris Straw at 417-864-1063.
