Brett A. Foster, P.E., will join the City of Springfield Jan. 26 as principal engineer for construction inspection. Foster’s responsibilities will include working with consultants, property owners, developers and contractors to provide plan review and construction inspection. This position also serves as the City’s construction contract administrator for projects funded through public work and environmental services. Foster currently serves as a resident engineer resident engineer for MoDOT's Southwest District, where his is responsible for $20 million to $50 million annually of construction contracts, including major highway expansions, interchange construction, bridge construction and pavement maintenance and overlays. Projects that Foster worked on at MoDOT include the 2014 Route 13/82 Osceola interchange project, the 2011 Route 65 Benton County expansion project, the 2010-11 Lake Taneycomo Bridge rehab and roundabout, and the 2007-08 James River Freeway and Republic Road cost share project. Before serving as a resident engineer in MoDOT's Southwest District, Foster served a senior construction inspector for MoDOT's Springfield District. Foster has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, where he graduated magna a cum laude in 2001.
