FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE More than four years after the City of Springfield discontinued its red-light camera program as a result of a Missouri Supreme Court ruling, and at Councilman Doug Burlison’s suggestion, vendor American Traffic Solutions, via Ewing Signal Construction, will remove the outdated and unusable equipment at 11 Springfield intersections. Removal is scheduled for mid- to late-September and should take no longer than one business week. Ewing Signal Construction will remove the cameras, lasers, poles and pole bases, leaving the meters, cabinets, pull boxes and conduits, which have value if reused for traffic signal purposes. Intersections where the equipment will be removed are:
- Kansas Expressway at Kearney Street
- Kansas Expressway at Chestnut Expressway
- Kansas Expressway at Sunshine Street
- Kansas Expressway at Battlefield Road
- Campbell Avenue at Sunshine Street
- Campbell Avenue at Battlefield Road
- National Avenue at Sunshine Street
- National Avenue at Battlefield Road
- Glenstone Avenue at Chestnut Expressway
- Glenstone Avenue at Sunshine Street
- Glenstone Avenue at Battlefield Road.
