Dallas County Receives Certified Work Ready Community Status

ACT Work Ready Communities_color 2017

SPRINGFIELD, MO –The Missouri Job Center is proud to host a celebration for Dallas County becoming a Certified Work Ready Community. Area leaders, elected officials, and Job Center staff will come together to celebrate this important accomplishment 3:30-4:30 p.m., April 17 at the Shewmaker Performing Arts Center, Buffalo High School, 500 West Main Street, Buffalo, Mo.

Dallas County completed their certification in the ACT Work Ready Program March 2018. In order to obtain certification, the ACT set goals for Dallas County to meet in four areas, all of which were surpassed.

The ACT Work Ready Community Program is designed to provide a community-based framework that focuses on the current workforce needs and helps to reduce the skills gap. This initiative allows for a more stream-lined approach to connect education to workforce development. These communities are helping to promote their local economies by increasing the quality of the workforce and anticipating the needs of area businesses.
