The Missouri Job Center is hosting an information and resource fair aimed at helping active military and veterans connect with the services they need. The Post-Independence Day Information Stand Down is Wednesday, July 11, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine in Springfield.

“At the Post-Independence Day Information Stand Down, active military as well as veterans and spouses can get information on the federal, state and local benefits in which they are entitled,” said Sabrina Bonnette, Disabled Veteran’s Outreach Program Workforce Specialist.

There will be more than 30 service providers on hand to help active duty, retired military and spouses with housing, education and career needs. “This is not a hiring event, it is an avenue to learn how to access earned benefits, gain helpful insights and find an outlet of support from other military members,” said Bonnette, who is a retired U.S. Navy Chief.
