Area employers, educators and students are invited to attend a Youth Roundtable event on Thursday, October 25, from 8-10:30 a.m. at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine. The Youth Roundtable is a continuation of several other industry specific roundtables that have been held at the Missouri Job Center to address employer needs.
Junior and senior high school students from the Ozark Region will discuss their views on employer expectations, career goals, the impact of social media, and other topics at the annual event. Employers from all industries will get the opportunity to hear directly from the future workforce and engage with them one-on-one following the discussion. Breakfast and snacks provided.
Youth attendees will be able to network with potential future employers and become more informed about all career path options. "The Missouri Job Center’s goal is to continue assisting in the needs of the local workforce and employers to maintain and grow the Ozark Region’s sustainability," said Mary Ann Rojas, Director of Workforce Development for the City of Springfield. This event will continue to help local employers learn how to attract the up-and-coming workforce or tomorrow, she said.
Employers or educators wanting to participate in the roundtable event, contact Tasha Cook at [email protected] or 417-841-3382.
