At 4:32 p.m. on October 31, 2018, Springfield police received a check the well-being call. The caller wanted officers to check the well-being of a female inside 1920 W. Elm. When officers entered the home they discovered two deceased individuals inside. Both individuals appeared to have injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
The deceased individuals were identified as Torie E. Parrow, a 32-year-old female from Springfield, and Melvin L. Parrow, a 36-year-old male from Springfield. Next-of-kin notifications have been made for both subjects. At this time, investigators do not believe there is a suspect at large and feel there is no danger to the community.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-8477.
