Representatives from the healthcare industry are coming together to talk workforce needs and challenges at a roundtable discussion hosted by the Missouri Job Center. The roundtable is Wednesday, Nov. 14, 7:30 am, at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine.

Many area healthcare agencies and hospital executives will be present that day to discuss issues pertinent to healthcare, including promotion of the industry in the region, lack of a skilled workforce, and retaining qualified workers.

“The feedback we get from these roundtables allows us to develop programs helpful to the healthcare industry and gives us direction on how we can help guide training for the workforce of the future,” said Cynthia Collins with the Missouri Job Center.

We’re working in conjunction with our local workforce partners to develop a plan to promote the industry, what we hear from our partners will help shape our action plan in the future, Collins said.

For more information, contact Katherine Trombetta at 417-841-3389 or Cynthia Collins at 417-874-2735.
