The Missouri Job Center is hosting a celebration for Webster County for becoming a Certified Work Ready Community. Area leaders, elected officials and Job Center staff will come together to celebrate this important accomplishment on Monday, December 10, 3:30 p.m. at Webster Electric, 120 Vivian Street, Marshfield, MO.

“To obtain certification, the ACT set goals for Webster County to meet in four areas, all of which were surpassed,” said Mary Ann Rojas, Director of Workforce Development at the Missouri Job Center. We are excited to help celebrate this milestone with them, Rojas said.

The ACT Work Ready Community Program is designed to provide a community-based framework that focuses on the current workforce needs and helps reduce the skills gap. This initiative allows for a more stream-lined approach to connect education to workforce development. Communities that attain certification are helping to promote their local economies by increasing the quality of the workforce and anticipating the needs of area businesses.
