The Missouri Job Center is pleased to host cyber security expert Lorne Hazlewood, Senior Information Security Analyst at BKD, on Thursday, Dec. 6, 1 pm, at the Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine. Mr. Hazlewood will talk about the need for trained professionals in the industry who can fill some of the 300,000 open positions in the U.S. currently.
The workshop is one of several events during the Hour of Code/Computer Science Education Week, the Missouri Job Center is hosting. Workshops during the week focus on navigating the vast world of tech
employment opportunities, highlight viable long-term career pathways, and provide a detailed look at the options and benefits of online learning through the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a nationwide
initiative to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and programming.
“Cyber crime is listed as America’s fastest growing crime in 2017, and poses one of the single greatest threats to businesses of all sizes,” said event organizer Cody Naeger, workforce development specialist with the Missouri Job Center. We are pleased to host Mr. Hazlewood and grateful for him to share his expertise with job seekers who are looking into cyber security as a career path, Naeger said.
