Springfield Police Investigate Locust Street Homicide
On January 15, 2019, at 12:54 a.m. Springfield police were dispatched to 911 W. Locust after a 911 caller said a person had been shot at the location. When officers arrived, they found a deceased female inside the home with a suspected gunshot wound. Investigators are currently working the scene as a homicide.
The victim was identified as Cheyenne L. Dancause, a 20-year-old female from Springfield. Next of kin notifications have been made for the victim. The suspect was identified as Chase E. Collins, a 21-year-old male from Springfield. Collins was arrested at the scene and booked into the Greene County Jail for second-degree murder.
