The Missouri Job Center is now offering free job training programs for young adults ages 18-24 in the healthcare, environmental, transportation and construction industries for those who qualify. Participants can earn a starting wage of $12 per hour while receiving free training in several high growth industry fields.
Applications are now being accepted for medical assistant, medical office assistant, environmental, construction and truck driving. Deadline to apply for medical jobs is February 5; deadline to apply for environmental, construction and transportation is February 12. Applicants for medical and environmental jobs must have a high school diploma or GED.
“We are working with employers to hire participants right out of training, said Cody Naeger, workforce development specialist with the Missouri Job Center’s Aspire Youth Program. Some training programs take as little as five weeks to complete so the turnaround time from training to employment is relatively quick, Naeger said.
To apply for all training programs, go online to www.AspireOzarks.org or call Tasha Cook at 417-841-3382. Training programs partially funded by WIOA (Workforce Innovation & Opportunities Act).
