The Ozark Region Workforce Development Board in Springfield is now accepting applications for micro-grants of up to $5,000 to assist rural communities in enhancing workforce development,

economic development, and developing leadership in their respective communities.

The Ozark Region Workforce Development Board is a volunteer board made up of 26 members representing various employment sectors in a seven county area including Greene, Webster, Dallas, Polk, Stone, Taney and Christian counties. The Board has oversight of a $7 million annual budget and oversees workforce development programs and services delivered through the Missouri Job Centers in Springfield and Branson.

“In 2018, the Workforce Development Board and the Missouri Job Center launched the Rural Outreach Initiative to build and sustain relationships and identifying needs in the six counties

surrounding Greene,” said Mary Ann Rojas, Director of the Missouri Job Center. Local economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, educational institutions, business-serving

organizations and community-based organizations are strongly encouraged to apply for these micro-grants, Rojas added.

Applications will be reviewed when received and early submissions are encouraged. To download an application visit, springfieldmo.gov/1564/Important-Notices-Documents. Completed applications may be emailed to Dennis Wiggins at [email protected] or mailed to the Missouri Job Center, Attn: Dennis Wiggins, 2900 E. Sunshine, Springfield, MO 65804.
