David Holtmann named City Finance Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

City Manager Greg Burris officially named David Holtmann as the City’s Finance director, effective Jan. 23. Holtmann has served as interim Finance director since July, when previous director Mary Mannix Decker retired.

“I am excited to select David for this key position within the third-largest city in the state. David emerged as the top choice from a strong pool of applicants. He has strong roots in Springfield and cares deeply about our community,” Burris said.

The Finance director oversees the administration of the fiscal activities of the City, including the program areas of financial management/accounting and investments and the budget and include oversight of the licensing office and the print shop.

Holtmann is a lifelong Springfield resident and has served as the City’s accounting manager for the past 14 years. He has served in public service positions in both accounting and finance roles for 28 years. He has a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and business administration from Drury University.

“I believe we are doing the right things at the City of Springfield and I’m honored to lead the Finance department in the challenging times ahead,” Holtmann said.

Holtmann’s salary will be $120,000 per year.

The City’s Finance Department is the recipient of the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association and Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Government Finance Officers Association.
