Springfield Mayor urges citizens to support WOW in national contest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Springfield Mayor Ken McClure is thrilled that Johnny Morris' Wonders of Wildlife National Aquarium and Museum is in the running to be considered as the best new attraction in the United States.  A USA TODAY readers' choice poll to select a winner continues through New Year's Day. Mayor McClure says he would be more thrilled, however, if it moved from its current #2 position (as of Tuesday at 4 p.m.) to #1 in the five days remaining.

People may vote once each day until 11 a.m. on New Year's Day at wondersofwildlife.org/vote or 10best.com. Results will be announced Jan. 5.

"I encourage all Springfield residents and those who visit Springfield to take the time to vote for WOW. It is  a world-class amenity that we are proud of beyond measure. It inspires people of all ages to learn, experience and support nature and all of its glory. It only takes a few minutes to vote!"
