Opening festivities for the 2018 Birthplace of Route 66 Festival begin at 4 p.m. at Roadside Park

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE


The Birthplace of Route 66 Roadside Park, located in the 1200 block of West College, will serve as party central for the opening festivities and parade assembly for the 2018 Birthplace of Route 66 Festival. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. at College Street and Fort Avenue and should conclude by 7:30 p.m.

The City has partnered with the West Central Neighborhood Alliance to host the pre-parade party at the park 4-6 p.m. with free food, drinks and music. The Springfield Greene-County Park Board is catering the event.

Media parking is available in the Mother’s Brewing Company parking lot at the corner of Grant and College, with shuttles available to and from the Roadside Park. Media credentialing is not required.
