The Ozark Region Workforce Development Board in Springfield is pleased to announce the recipients of rural community micro-grants. These grants will be highlighted at a special check presentation ceremony on Monday, April 1, 1:30 pm, at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine, in Springfield.
Grant recipients represent all 6 rural counties comprising the Ozark Region of the Missouri Job Center including Christian, Taney, Stone, Dallas, Polk and Webster. The grants awarded are up to $5,000 and were created to encourage innovation in supporting workforce needs and develop leaders in rural communities.
“We were pleased with the response from the rural counties and we are excited to help them build capacity in their communities to stimulate workforce and economic development,” said Mary Ann Rojas, Director of Workforce Development for the Ozark Region Workforce Development Board.
The Ozark Region Workforce Development Board is a volunteer board made up of 26 members representing various employment sectors in a seven county area including Greene, Webster, Dallas, Polk, Stone, Taney and Christian counties. The Board has oversight of a $7 million annual budget and oversees workforce development programs and services delivered through the Missouri Job Centers in Springfield and Branson.
