The Missouri Job Center is hosting a two-day One Stop Pop Up on Park Central Square, April 9 and 10, from 9 am to 3 pm. The One Stop Pop Up brings the resources of the Missouri Job Center and provides information to those who may not be able to travel to one of the Job Center locations in Springfield.
“At the Missouri Job Center, staff realized that barriers like transportation and childcare can prevent job seekers from visiting Job Centers to look for employment, so these Pop-Up Job Centers were created to counteract that problem,” said Mary Ann Rojas, Workforce Development Director for the City of Springfield. We’ve seen great success at Pop-Up events in Stone, Dallas Polk and Greene counties, Rojas said.
The Pop Up will be stationed in front of the Springfield-Greene County Library and will move inside the library in the event of rain. The Pop Up Job Center provides services offered through the Missouri Job Center including resume writing assistance, help with job searches, a skills assessment and information on job skills classes such as Change One Thousand.
