Missouri Job Center Business Service Team to Receive Economic Impact Award
The Ozark Region Workforce Development Board is pleased to announce the Missouri Job Center’s Business Service Team is the recipient of the 2019 Business Advocate of the Year award, presented by the Springfield Business Journal.
The Business Service Team is being recognized for their efforts in assisting local businesses with recruitment, retention and skills development of employees. In 2018, the team conducted 189 hiring events which attracted 4,389 job seekers.
“The Business Service Team allocates resources to meet workforce needs of employers such as addressing the skills gap, using the Mobile Job Center, hosting town halls, lunch and learns, partner engagement, and providing up-to-date labor market information,” said Mary Ann Rojas, Workforce Development Director for the City of Springfield.
“They provide access to local job centers in Springfield and Branson, for employers to use in interviewing, training and onboarding of new employees. The team also advocates alternative sources of employees such as justice involved individuals, youth, individuals with disabilities, and other untapped sources,” Rojas added. We are so pleased they are being recognized for their efforts, she said.
The SBJ Economic Impact Awards will be presented on July 25 at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center. For more information, contact Katherine Trombetta at 417-841-3389 or [email protected]
