SPD Investigates Single-Vehicle Fatal Crash
On December 29, 2019, at approximately 7:50 a.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to the area of National and Meadowmere regarding a single vehicle crash. A 2006 Honda Element driven by Connor Gray, a 21-year-old male from Springfield, MO., was southbound on National. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the front yard of a residence. The driver died at the scene from injuries related to the crash. Next of kin have been notified. Officers with the Traffic Section responded for the investigation, which is ongoing. Alcohol impairment is being considered as a contributing factor.
This is the 13th fatal vehicle crash in Springfield this year.
