Missouri Job Center to Host Drive Thru Job Fair

The Missouri Job Center in Springfield is hosting its first Drive Thru Job Fair on Wednesday, June 24, 9:30-11:30 am in the parking lot of the Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine, Springfield. Eight employers will set up under canopy tents in the parking lot to talk to job seekers about opportunities for employment.

“It is important to note that job seekers who would like to meet with any of the eight employers should first go online and fill out an employment application on the company’s website,” said Dennis Wiggins, Business Service Supervisor at the Missouri Job Center. “We are hosting this event in an effort to connect employers and job seekers in new ways during these times in order to follow guidelines within our community and region,” he said.

“In addition to the eight on-site employers, an extensive list of companies in the Ozark Region who are hiring will be given out to all attendees,” said Sally Payne, Interim Director of Workforce Development for the City of Springfield. “Job seekers will also be able to talk to Missouri Job Center staff about training opportunities offered to help those in the wake of job loss,” she added.

Participating employers include Bass Pro Shops, CoxHealth, Springfield Public Schools, McCormick, Red Monkey, QPS Employment, Phoenix Home Health Care and ARC of the Ozarks. Those wishing to meet with one or more of these employers are asked to go on the company’s website and fill out an application for employment prior to the job fair.

For more information on participating in the Job Fair, please contact Dennis Wiggins at 417-841-3310 or [email protected]
