As the new year brings us new hope in the fight against COVID-19, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department encourages everyone in our community to make a New Year’s resolution to Finish Strong.
By making a resolution to Finish Strong, you commit to staying vigilant to slow the spread of COVID-19 and pledge to get the COVID-19 vaccine whenever it is available to you.
You can take the Finish Strong pledge by visiting health.springfieldmo.gov/COVIDvaccine. There you can see the latest information on the COVID-19 vaccine, take the Finish Strong pledge and sign up for news and updates around the vaccine.
The Finish Strong pledge asks that we:
“We are starting this year with so much hope, but the new year cannot be a free pass to let our guard down,” said Director of Health Clay Goddard. “Vaccine rollout is just beginning. We must be patient and steadfast in our efforts to slow disease spread for just a bit longer—this includes wearing a mask, staying physically distant, washing our hands and staying home when we are sick.”
The health department’s COVID-19 webpage is regularly updated and includes links to verified, authoritative information from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as a Frequently Asked Questions section.
The health department encourages individuals who have received the vaccine to post a photo on social media with the hashtag #FinishStrong417.
Inquiries from the public can be made by contacting the Health Department’s call center at (417) 874-1211 or by email at [email protected].
