Council expected to amend Galloway rezoning bill; public hearing to continue

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

At its Sept. 8 meeting, City Council is expected to amend Council Bill 2020-187, which would rezone approximately 4.2 acres at 3503, 3521, 3527, and 3535 S. Lone Pine Avenue from R-SF, Single-family Residential, GR, General Retail, and LB, Limited Business District, to Planned Development No. 374. Rezoning applicant Elevation Enterprises plans a mixed-use development with two new multi-family residential buildings and four existing buildings for commercial and residential use.

The amendment reduces the maximum structure height for the buildings not located within 60 feet of the property/right-of-way line fronting along Lone Pine Avenue from 60 feet to 56 feet and modifies the plans by removing the underground garage and creating additional parking west of the Purple Shamrock building at 3527 E. Lone Pine, resulting in less intensity and requiring less grading.

If the bill is amended, public hearing will be taken on the amendment only and continued to the Sept. 21 meeting. It is expected that council will vote on the bill at the Sept 21. meeting once public hearing has closed.
