As vaccine distribution efforts continue for certain populations, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department has launched a regional survey to gauge the public’s interest in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and better understand questions individuals may have.
The survey measures how likely someone is to receive the vaccine, general attitudes on COVID-19, and where individuals commonly go for information about their health – including vaccines.
Information collected from the survey will help the Health Department better serve our entire region and address potential concerns surrounding vaccine. The survey can be found at surveymonkey.com/r/417COVIDvaccinesurvey
Individuals in the Missouri’s Region D are invited to complete the survey. These counties include Barry, Barton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Hickory, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Polk, St. Clair, Stone, Taney, Vernon and Webster.
Details on mass vaccination opportunities to come
Mass COVID-19 vaccination sites are being established by the Missouri National Guard and Department of Health and Senior Services in each of the nine Missouri State Highway Patrol regions.
The Health Department will coordinate the distribution and scheduling of vaccinations in conjunction with local healthcare partners. We will provide information on who will be eligible for vaccine and how to register once it is available. At this time, individuals are unable to register for this event.
Distribution efforts
Individuals currently eligible to receive the vaccine include: healthcare workers, first responders, emergency service workers and certain high-risk individuals. However, the supply of COVID vaccine remains extremely low throughout the region.
The Health Department does not have vaccine available for high-risk individuals at this time. These individuals should go through their healthcare provider for information on other potential opportunities to receive the vaccine. You can sign up to receive updates at the links below.
