Springfield-Greene County Health Department Director Clay Goddard will hold his final media briefing at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, February 26, 2021, at Jordan Valley Community Health Center’s vaccination clinic at Grand and Kansas Expressway (the old Price Cutter building).
Goddard will express his appreciation to our community and reflect on the collaborative efforts in our fight against COVID-19 over the past year.
Friday’s mass vaccination event is in collaboration with the Missouri National Guard, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and local health care systems. The clinic – which is by appointment only -- will administer second doses of vaccine to individuals who received their first dose during a similar event on February 5.
This event will be held inside the vaccine clinic--media must be escorted by a SGCHD employee if they leave the designated media area. To protect patient privacy, images that could identifiable (such as faces, etc) will not be allowed without patient permission. We do expect media to have access to the observation area, where you will be able to ask patients for interviews.
We ask that members of the media self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the building and wear a face mask and practice physical distancing.
Media can utilize footage from a pool camera but will be spaced to maintain physical distancing. Reporters and the public can continue to tune in to the livestream on the City's and Health Department's Facebook pages or at https://cityview.springfieldmo.gov/livestream/
For reporters who will not appear in person, questions can be directed via text message to Cora Scott, 417-380-3352.
For media requests, please contact Kathryn Wall, Public Health Information Administrator, at 417-380-2556.
