Health Dept. announces COVID-19 deaths for Mar. 10-16

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is saddened to announce the death of one Greene County resident from COVID-19. This loss was reported to us between Wednesday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 16.

Our community lost a man in his 60s.

We extend our condolences to everyone impacted by this loss. We take each loss personally and our hearts are with you. 

A total of 422 Greene County residents have died from COVID-19.

Profiles of those we’ve lost

This death occurred in March. The man had an underlying health condition that put him at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19. He was not associated with long-term care.

Total number of COVID-19 deaths in Greene County by age group: 

20s: 1 death
30s: 2 deaths
40s: 7 deaths
50s: 23 deaths
60s: 48 deaths
70s: 115 deaths
80s: 135 deaths
90s: 85 death
100s: 6 deaths

COVID-19 Living Memorial                   

The Health Department is committed to remembering each life lost from COVID-19 and supporting those left behind. The COVID-19 Living Memorial allows families to share stories and memories of loved ones.

COVID-19 in our community 

A total of 28,074 cases have been reported in Greene County.

448 cases of COVID-19 have been reported so far in March.

175 cases of COVID-19 were reported to the Health Department in the last week. The seven-day average for new cases is 25.

We all play a part in prevention

It is vital that we all remain vigilant and follow basic prevention measures to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

  • Wear a mask
  • Watch your distance
  • Wash your hands
  • Get the COVID-19 vaccine when it’s your turn
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Limit interactions and social gatherings
  • Minimize travel
