The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is excited to announce that individuals may now schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment directly through Missouri’s Vaccine Navigator program.
All Missourians 16 years and older can make an appointment after completing the registration process at covidvaccine.mo.gov/navigator.
Previously, individuals had to wait to receive an email or text message from Vaccine Navigator before scheduling an appointment for one of the Health Department’s clinics. Now, individuals can visit the Vaccine Navigator website to schedule an appointment immediately after registering.
The public can still view a complete list of vaccine events at vaccine417.com and contact the Health Department’s COVID-19 call center at (417) 874-1211 for help registering or making an appointment.
The Health Department strongly encourages everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible so our community can continue to recover from COVID-19 and finish strong.
On Friday, the City of Springfield entered the yellow phase of its Road to Recovery, which reduces some COVID-related occupancy restrictions. The masking ordinance remains in effect. Although there are many factors that play a role in the measured reopening of our community, vaccine rollout has been a significant factor in our gradual return to normalcy.
Consideration for moving into the green phase (the final phase of the Road to Recovery in which masking restrictions will be removed) is dependent upon three indicators – two of which must be met with significant progress toward the third -- over a 28-day period:
“Vaccine continues to be our best defense against COVID-19 and its variants,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Nancy Yoon. “We encourage everybody to get vaccinated -- the benefits to you, your family and the community far outweigh the risks of contracting the virus.”
