Missouri Job Center and Health Department Team Up for “Get a Shot, Get a Job”

The Missouri Job Center and the Springfield-Greene County Health Department are teaming up for “Get a Shot, Get a Job,” a combined job fair and vaccination clinic on Wednesday, June 9, from 9 am—12 pm at the Missouri Job Center located at 2900 E. Sunshine in Springfield.   

“We are pleased to partner with the Health Department to offer a vaccine clinic at our Drive Thru Job Fair,” said Sally Payne, Interim Director of Workforce Development for the City of Springfield.  Job seekers can drive through the parking lot and talk to approximately 30 area employers about opportunities within their companies and then step inside the Job Center for a free COVID-19 vaccine,” Payne said.  

Participating employers include Bass Pro Base Camp and Retail, CoxHealth, Merrill Steel, Grizzly, SRC Reman, Haven Healthcare, Atrium Hospitality, Wonders of Wildlife, Dogwood Canyon, AmProd, Securitas, JenFab, Phoenix Home Care, Costco, Mama Jeans, DHL, Russell Cellular, Missouri State University, Mercy, Dept of Corrections/Ozarks Correctional Center, CNH Reman, Dairy Farmers of America, Springfield-Greene County Park Board, Arc of the Ozarks, Walmart #2221, Missouri Prime Beef Packers, Foster Adopt Connect, O’Reilly Hospitality, 3M and Weekends Only Furniture & Mattress.

The vaccination event is open to all members of the public and walk-ins are welcome. The Health Department will be administering the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Kids as young as 12 may receive the Pfizer vaccine when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
