The City of Springfield Department of Workforce Development has named a new assistant director. Ericka (Combs) Schmeeckle has been promoted to the assistant director role. She has served in the public workforce system since 2015.
“I am honored to begin this journey and hope to elevate the department’s profile in the community by diversifying funding streams to enhance our efforts in training and supporting the workforce,” said Ericka Schmeeckle.
Ericka is a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky and began her career with the Department of Workforce Development three years ago as Program Coordinator for the Aspire Youth Program. Ericka has extensive experience in grant writing and program management.
“I’m excited and grateful to have Ericka on the team. She brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the department as a whole and will be a great mentor to staff,” said Director of Workforce Development Sally Payne.
