Sculpture to take summertime tumble Monday evening

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Tumbler sculpture on Park Central Square will take its summertime tumble at 5:15 p.m., Monday, June 21 in honor of The Coffee Ethic co-founder Tom Billionis, who passed away in 2016.

The evening tumble is part of the Coffee Ethic's 5th Annual Tumble for SGF event, celebrating the start of summer and benefitting local charities.

About the Tumbler

Created by sculptor Aris Demetrios, the Tumbler was installed on the square in 1971 and is regarded as Springfield’s first piece of modern art. The sculpture is re-oriented, or “tumbled,” seasonally.
