Updated COVID-19 protocols for Historic City Hall begin Monday

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Springfield has updated COVID-19 safety protocols for public meetings taking place in Historic City Hall. Slight changes will be in effect beginning Monday, Aug. 23, 2021. Based on concerns over the spread of the Delta variant, reduced capacity for seating inside Council Chambers will allow for social distancing as case counts remain high. Capacity for the foreseeable future will be 65, including City Council members, staff and media. An overflow room on the second floor will allow for additional capacity. Attendees in the overflow room will be able to view the proceedings on a video screen and those signed up to speak will be called to the chambers to present testimony at the proper time. The east door of Historic City Hall will be the public entrance for all meetings.

Temperature checks will be required to enter Historic City Hall. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher will not be allowed inside.

Thank you for your patience during this challenging time.
