Health Department releases toolkit to help workplaces navigate Omicron surge

To help strengthen organizational prevention and response to the rise in COVID-19 cases, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department has released an updated COVID-19 Toolkit for Businesses & Workplaces.

First released in Sept. 2020, this updated toolkit will provide employers with guidance and resources to slow current and future surges of COVID-19 in their workplaces. The toolkit includes quarantine and isolation guidance, prevention strategies and sample policies, testing information, vaccination information, exposure notification templates and printable flyers. The toolkit also includes a risk assessment and mitigation tool that will help employers evaluate their current prevention measures and make changes to reduce the risk of COVID-19 in their workplaces. These resources will equip businesses and organizations with the tools they need to protect their employees and customers.

The complete toolkit can be found at

The Health Department is urging businesses to do their part to help Slow the Surge using the resources provided in this toolkit. As cases continue to rise, everyone should wear a mask to prevent the spread of the virus, get vaccinated and receive a booster dose, get tested if exposed to COVID-19 or experiencing symptoms and stay at home if they’re sick.

Anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 or is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should get tested. Appointments are required for COVID-19 testing at the Springfield-Greene County Health Department and can be made online at or by calling the COVID-19 Call Center at 417-874-1211

Those who are not yet vaccinated should do so as soon as possible, and everyone who is eligible should get a booster dose. Booster doses are shown to significantly reduce the risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19. For vaccination opportunities, visit or call the COVID-19 call center at 417-874-1211. Those receiving a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at the Health Department clinic are eligible to receive a $50 gift card while supplies last.
