High School and College Students to Discuss Their Future Plans at Roundtable Events
The Department of Workforce Development, housed at the Missouri Job Center, is hosting a two-day roundtable series to engage young adults in high school and college who are preparing to graduate, and find out their future plans. The college roundtable is set for Thursday, April 28, and on April 29, area high school students will discuss their futures at a roundtable event. Both events will be at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine.
“We’ve planned these events back-to-back in order to really get a feel for what both high school and college students are facing right now in terms of deciding career paths, where they’ll live and why,” said Sally Payne, Director of Workforce Development for the City of Springfield. “We are interested in hearing from college students about what led them to their field of study and why they chose Springfield as a place to continue their education. We’re also excited to hear from our local area high school students about decisions they are making to attend college or go directly into the workforce or military,” Payne added.
The College Roundtable will take place from 2-4 pm on April 28, and the High School Roundtable will be held April 29, from 8-10 am. Both events will be hosted at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine in Springfield.
