COVID-19 public vaccination opportunities for May 30 – June 3

COVID-19 News

As we honor our servicemen and women on Monday, May 30 for Memorial Day, residents are encouraged to take precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19 over the holiday weekend. Currently, Greene County is still considered low level for transmission by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Precautions within this level include staying up to date on vaccines and boosters, getting tested if you are exposed or have symptoms of COVID-19 and maintain improved ventilation in indoor spaces.

On May 1 the 7-day rolling average was 11 cases, and as of May 26 the average is 37.9 cases. Given this increase it’s important for us all to remember the CDC precautionary measures we can take before and during the holiday weekend to keep cases from increasing further.

Springfield-Greene County Health will host walk-in vaccine opportunities with community partners during the week of May 30 – June 3.

Individuals who receive a primary (first or second) dose or first booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a Health Department clinic will receive a $50 gift card while supplies last. Second booster doses are available for immunocompromised individuals 12 and up or anyone age 50 and over at least four months after a first booster dose. Gift card incentives are not available for a second booster dose.

Vaccination appointments are also available Monday-Friday at Westside Public Health Center (660 S. Scenic Ave.) from 1-4:30 p.m. To schedule, visit vaccine417.com or call the COVID-19 Call Center at 417-874-1211.
