COVID-19 testing will be moving to the Springfield-Greene County Health’s Bengsch Building (227 E. Chestnut Expy) beginning Monday, Aug. 15. Testing has been held at the Westside Public Health Center since the spring.
Members of the public can still make COVID-19 testing appointments at COVIDTesting417.com. Hours of operation for testing will remain the same from 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and will be by appointment only.
When arriving to be tested, please use the main entrance of the Health Department on the north side of the building. Once inside, follow the marked signage and pathway to the testing room. Masking will be required when coming to be tested.
COVID-19 tests are administered via throat swab and results are made available within 24-72 hours.
Getting tested for COVID-19 plays a large role in reducing the spread of illness in our community. If you are feeling sick, stay home unless you are going to be tested or you are seeking emergency or urgent medical attention.
In addition to testing, the Health Department also encourages individuals to get vaccinated. Vaccinations will continue being offered at the Westside Public Health Center (660 S. Scenic) and at pop-up clinics around the community. For vaccination opportunities, visit vaccine417.com or call the COVID-19 call center at 417-874-1211. Those receiving their primary doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or a first booster is eligible for a $50 gift card while supplies last.
