Springfield Fire Department releases Quarterly Fire Safety Report for the third quarter of 2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Springfield Fire Department responded to more than 3,400 calls for service (including 42 building fires), installed 275 smoke alarms; hosted three HazMat refresher courses; trained in water rescue, trench rescue and emergency medical response; and issued three citations for illegal burning during the third quarter of 2022. Fire marshals also successfully obtained and served a municipal warrant for illegally burning waste materials and tampering/ removing equipment. This is the first time a municipal warrant has been served by a fire marshal.
