The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will begin offering free, drive-through testing for COVID-19, Influenza A & B (flu) and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in Springfield beginning today, Tuesday, Nov. 8. Testing will be located at Teamsters Hall, 1850 E. Division St. from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and occur weekly through March 2023.

Individuals in need of a test are not required to have an appointment and do not need to be a resident of Greene County. Results of the test will be made available to patients the day after the test via email or by phone. For more information about getting your results, visit nextgendiagnosticservices.com or call 417-362-6398.

Cases of COVID-19, RSV and the flu are expected to continue rising as we get further into respiratory illness season. Currently, Greene County is experiencing a spike in child hospitalizations from RSV.

Due to the similarities in symptoms, the best way to know for sure what you have is by getting tested. While many recover on their own with these viruses, there are still severe cases which lead to hospitalization and sometimes death.

It’s important to continue practicing good hygiene like washing your hands, covering your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, staying home when sick and getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu. There is currently no vaccine for RSV. Everyone is encouraged to take every precaution they can to stop the transmission of these viruses.
