WHAT:  Neighborhood Open House Workshop regarding next steps in the Grant Avenue Parkway project
Planning consultants with PGAV are conducting a qualifications analysis of a portion of the Grant Avenue Parkway improvement corridor. The study will help identify what areas qualify for a variety of economic development and neighborhood revitalization tools.

WHEN: 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 19

WHERE:  Parkview High School cafeteria (enter doors #12 or #13 on the south side of the building)

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Open House stations around the room and an opportunity to talk with PGAV and City staff about what the opportunities are along the corridor and provide feedback.
  • Staff presentation at 6 p.m.
  • Virtual option to view information, a video package summarizing the meeting and the ability to provide feedback for those who can’t make the meeting available at GrantAvenueParkway.com/Revitalization.

More about the Qualifications Analysis:

The study area encompasses approximately 265 acres generally bounded by Olive Street to the north, Catalpa Street to the south, Patton Avenue to the east, and Douglas Avenue to the west.  The area includes the northern two-thirds of the Grant Avenue Parkway corridor and portions of the surrounding neighborhoods.

The goals of the study are to create resources for economic development and neighborhood revitalization along the Grant Avenue Parkway corridor and into surrounding neighborhoods.

The consultant team identified opportunities to leverage private investment in commercial and residential properties and will identify programs to provide benefits to existing residents.

PGAV is also hosting one-on-one conversations with interested developers to gather feedback to incorporate into the study and redevelopment plan. Interested developers are encouraged to email Andy Struckhoff at [email protected] to schedule a meeting.

A final study report and recommendations are expected to be brought to City Council in late spring 2022.  There will be an additional opportunity for public comment at a later date when the redevelopment plan comes forward. To sign up for future updates, visit GrantAvenueParkway.com.
