In response to City of Springfield ordinance, face masks are now required to visit the Springfield Art Museum effective July 16 - October 14, 2020. The Museum will adhere to all City and County orders in order to ensure the health and safety of all Museum patrons, staff, and the works of art entrusted to our care.
As a department of the City of Springfield, Missouri, The Museum has been closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) reports on COVID-19 and following recommendations and ordinances from City leadership, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, the state of Missouri, and the federal government. All previous guidelines remain in place.
If patrons foresee any issue following the guidelines, including but not limited to wearing a face mask, we respectfully ask that you refrain from visiting the Museum at this time. Virtual exhibition resources are currently available for the following special exhibitions:
-Framed: The Art of the Picture Frame
-Watercolor USA 2020
Marked pathways are located along the floor to indicate the best route between galleries. Security Officers, Gallery Attendants, and other Museum staff will be available to answer your questions and help you navigate changes to Museum-going procedures. All Museum public programs (tours, workshops, classes, etc.), special events, and event rentals remain canceled until further notice.
-The Family Art Lab will remain closed until August 4.
-The Hartman Gallery, which currently houses selections from our Asian Art Collection, will remain closed until October 17
The Museum appreciates our patrons’ continued patience and understanding as we navigate quickly changing public service operating guidelines during this unprecedented public health situation. We will continue to make additional refinements to our disease prevention and pandemic response procedures as necessary.
