An updated version of the Flood Control and Water Quality Protection Manual was adopted by City Council on April 4, 2022 and goes into effect May 4, 2022.  The changes to the manual include a water quality requirement for redevelopment and other technical updates and clarifications to stormwater design standards for development.  The updated manual and a summary of changes is available at https://www.springfieldmo.gov/2120/Design-Resources.

Projects which have completed a predevelopment review within 180 days prior to passage of this ordinance from October 6, 2021 through March 31, 2022 are exempt from complying with the water quality requirement for redevelopment, provided stormwater plans are submitted within 180 days after passage of this ordinance by September 1, 2022 for the project defined in the scope of the predevelopment review.  However, the project is still required to comply with all other requirements, including water quality standards in full force and effect at the time of plan submittal.  Predevelopment reviews for rezoning or subdivision-related matters do not qualify as a ‘project’ for this exemption.
