Veterans' Views Opening Reception

Please join the Museum and Drury University as we present this moving juried photography exhibition highlighting 60 images taken by members of our nation’s armed services, relating to their military experiences. Forty veterans representing the Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Army Reserve, National Guard, and the Army Corps of Engineers from 12 states are featured in this exhibit that honors tours of service from 1946 to 2017. This exhibit includes a slate of free public programs, and a “Veterans Family Tree” where patrons can photocopy and post pictures of service members.

Veterans' Views Public Program: Good Morning Vietnam Screening

Join us for a free screening of Good Morning Vietnam. Bring a chair or blanket. In case of inclement weather, the screening will take place in the auditorium. This film is rated R. This film is presented with support from The Moxie and the Springfield Regional Arts Council through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

Please join the Friends of the Springfield Art Museum (FOSAM) and Studio 55 Fine Arts Guild as they present “Letters in Abstract” with graphic artist Evan Wright. Wright will present a brief overview of the history of modern graffiti and its fine art derivatives, discuss his own graffiti-inspired works, and lead the group in a hands-on demo. Pardon Our Progress: Lobby Closure

July 31 - August 15, 2017

In order to accommodate the recently announced Chihuly chandelier, "Autumn Persian and Feather," we are making necessary upgrades to our lobby. Beginning July 31 through August 15, the main lobby will be inaccessible to the public, but the Museum will remain open. Please enter through the northwest side entrance, to the left of the main lobby doors.
