The Structured Landscape Opening

Armstrong Gallery
Wednesday, November 1, 10 AM - 6 PM

Watercolor lovers rejoice! There is always more watercolor to see at the Museum despite the closure of this year’s Watercolor USA. A new special exhibition, The Structured Landscape, opens in the Armstrong Gallery today, November 1, 2017 and runs through March 25, 2018.
Humans readily identify themselves with man-made structures, which perhaps explains one reason this genre is so popular among artists. A simple landscape becomes more interesting when dwellings or other architectural structures are included as part of the scene.
Guest curated by Cindy Quayle, Exhibitions Manager, this exhibition is the sixth in a series, focusing on various artists, styles, and trends pulled exclusively from the Museum's outstanding collection of contemporary American aquamedia. This exhibit features 24 works, 15 of which were purchased from previous Watercolor USA exhibitions, including those as far back as Watercolor USA 1964.

Veterans' Family Tree in the Veterans' Views photography exhibition

Add Your Loved Ones to Our Veterans' Family Tree

Spratlen Gallery
Saturday, November 11, 10 AM - 6 PM

The Museum will be open on Veteran's Day and what better way to honor veterans than by viewing their photography in our galleries and posting an image on our Veterans' Family Tree. Patrons and veterans are encouraged to bring photos of themselves or service members from their families, photocopy them using materials provided, and add to our growing wall of community member's photos. Take a moment to flip through the veterans' journal (and add to it!) which includes veterans' and families' thoughts on service to our country.

**Please do not bring framed photographs and attempt to leave them in the exhibition. All materials are provided to photocopy images and post them. In accordance with our Collection Management and Acquisition policies, the Museum does not accept unsolicited works of art.
