Watercolor USA evergreen identity

Call For Entry: Watercolor USA 2018

Deadline to apply: March 6, 2018

Beginning January 2, the Museum seeks submissions for Watercolor USA 2018. The 57th annual juried exhibition of the very best in contemporary American watermedia is scheduled for June 2 - August 26, 2018. This exhibition is open to artists from all 50 states and U.S. territories and will be judged by Kelly Kane, former Editor-in-Chief of Watercolor Artist magazine. Approximately $20,000 in cash and possible Museum purchase awards are available. Artists whose work pushes the boundaries of traditional aqueous media are encouraged to enter. Please join Sarah Buhr, Curator of Art as she discusses the process of researching, selecting collections, designing, and curating Wonder Rooms: Ozark Collections, in a special tour and curator's talk.

Family Days are drop-in events designed to help kids and grown-ups explore the Museum's exhibits together through hands-on gallery and art-making activities. No registration required.

Winter Art Classes Begin January 23

There's still time to register for Winter Classes at the Museum. Classes begin January 23 and will run through March 17, 2018. We offer courses in Beginning Acrylic Painting (Adult), Mixed Media (Adult & Teen), Pottery (Adult & Teen), Beginning & Open Studio in Metals/Jewelry (Adult), and Kids Imagination. Free Pre-K Open Studio Sessions

Fridays, January 19 & 26, 10:30 AM - Noon


Free Pre-K Open Studio Sessions return in 2018 thanks to ongoing generous grant funding from the Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation. Bring your littlest artist to the Museum for some hands-on fun. This program helps build creativity and school readiness. You and your child can make your mark using a variety of tools and materials in an exploratory open-studio setting. These sessions are designed for kids ages 3-5 with a caregiver. Classes are free and open to the public; registration is required.
