Andrew Lear was appointed to City Council to serve as General Councilmember C in October
2018 and was elected to the seat in April 2019. His term expires in April 2023. He currently
serves on the Finance and Administration Committee and the Plans and Policies Committee.
Lear is a retired partner of BKD, CPAs & Advisors. He is a certified public accountant.
He has served in various board service capacities, including the Springfield Family YMCA, the
Developmental Center of the Ozarks, Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the
Springfield Business and Development Corporation. He served as the initial chairman of the
Civility Project and is active in various arts organizations.
Lear is a product of Springfield Public Schools, having attended Wilder, Pershing, and Glendale,
and received a bachelor of science in business, majoring in accounting and business
administration, from the University of Kansas.
