Phyllis Ferguson was appointed to City Council to represent Zone 1 in April, 2015 and elected in 2017 for the same seat. She currently serves on the Community Involvement Committee and the Public Involvement Committee.

Ferguson has served as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Commercial Street Task Force, Sign Ordinance Review Task Force, and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.

Ferguson’s civic involvement also includes her service as the Chair of the Neighborhood Advisory Council, President of the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association, Developer of the Moon City Creative District, Elder at Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church, Co-Director, board member, and volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and Southwest Missouri Representative for Missouri Preservation.

Councilwoman Ferguson's term expires in 2021.

Professional Experience
Councilwoman Ferguson currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer/Treasurer for Mexican Villa Food Products, Incorporated. She has previously worked for Mercy Health Systems and Heer’s Department Store.

Education
Ferguson received her bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University.

Personal Information
Ferguson is married to Tim Phillips and has four children.
