The City of Springfield has created a Public Improvement Plan Process Guide to assist Springfield developers, engineers, City staff and others in the development and plan review of Public Improvement Plans (PIP) as required by the Subdivision Regulations, Land Development Code, or other requirements of City Code and any applicable laws and regulations.
This document is a reference tool intended to help standardize and clarify the process. For full detailed design requirements and specifications, please review the technical manuals provided below.
2021 updates made to the General Conditions, Design Standards and Technical Specifications manuals of the Design Guide for Public Improvements will take effect Oct. 1, 2021. These changes have been developed with input from the City's partners in the design and contracting community and generally consist of minor updates to language to provide clarity and consistency across all standards and requirements.
All projects submitted beginning Oct. 1, 2021 must comply with the new manual changes.
Due to software updates, the City has updated the standard Public Works Title Block requirements to aid in the automated process when applying approval signatures to plan sheets.
All plans submitted after June 1st, 2022 must use the updated title block, margin and clear space requirements to be used for all Public Works drawings. The standard 24” x 36” sheet title block with a 0.5” margin on the top, bottom and right side. These margins must be present on all final drawings and the space in the bottom right must be blank for the placement of the “filed” stamp and signatures.
