Online affordable housing locator to launch Feb. 14

Community Partnership of the Ozarks and the City of Springfield invite you to a news conference 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 14 to unveil a new affordable housing locator (website) to the public. This effort is part of the Springfield Affordable Housing Center, and is another step in removing barriers for residents seeking safe, decent and affordable housing.

The website, powered by Social Serve, will give citizens 24/7 access to search available affordable properties in Greene, Christian, and Webster Counties. The website is also capable of hosting listings for emergency housing in the event of a natural disaster. We invite you to learn more as we roll out the new website and do a live demonstration on-site at the Center, 300 E. Central in City Government Plaza.

Officials will also celebrate the collaboration of nearly a dozen partner agencies that make up the Springfield Affordable Housing Center, which launched in June 2013 to provide centralized access to homeless prevention and affordable housing options. As part of this celebration, learn more about the success of the Springfield Community Land Trust's first operating year, and how it has made affordable home ownership possible.

Springfield City Manager Greg Burris will provide opening remarks at 11 a.m. with the online demo and open house following.
