Carlos Tureaud in custody

On September 1, 2012, officers were dispatched to 1230 E. McDaniel for an assault call involving a weapon and found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The male, identified as 24-year-old Marcus Wells of Springfield, was taken to a local hospital where he died of his wounds.

During the investigation, detectives determined that Carlos Tureaud was present during this incident. They have been attempting to locate him for questioning since that time. Tureaud also had an active warrant for a parole violation stemming from an original charge of Shooting at or From a Motor Vehicle.

On June 13, 2013, Carlos Tureaud was arrested by the Nixa Police Department. He is currently being held at Greene County Jail without bond on the parole violation warrant as well as a Greene County warrant for Distribution/Delivery/Manufacture of a Controlled Substance. Charges have not yet been presented to the prosecutor in reference to the homicide, and the investigation is still ongoing.
